Living Out of Your Strengths is a book for anyone who has looked at their life and said, "I want to make a change, but I don't know how."
This book will show you how.
• You’ll learn how to plot your own journey of change by mapping your unique path.
• You’ll explore things you’re good at and then learn to use them to make changes that are important to you.
This book is about how you work, and how you can change.
The journey you’re about to embark on will be unlike anything you’ve done before. Unlike traditional approaches to problem solving, you’re not going to spend all your time digging around in the muck and mire of your past. You’re not going to relive unhappy experiences from your past. You’re not going to put your problems under the microscope. You’re not going to talk about how bad you feel, how big your problems are, or how overwhelmed you’re feeling. You won’t even be "learning from your mistakes".
Why not? Because, you’re already doing those things. You already know what’s wrong. You know what your mistakes have been. You’re already nursing your regrets. You don't need any more practice looking at what’s wrong. What you need now is some hope.
Hope will come as you spend time looking at the things that you’re good at, the things you love, and the things that bring you joy. Reading Living Out of Your Strengths will allow you to look at what went right in your life. You’ll examine what’s working in your life. You’ll be building upon the positive, hopeful, joyous, and victorious successes of your past.
In this journey, you’ll be exploring all that is good within you. All that is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8) about you’ll be examined, understood, and reveled in.
You’ll learn to see yourself the way God sees you. Not as a failure, but as a beloved child, His own creation, whom He filled with strengths, gifts, talents, and hope for the future (Jeremiah 21:11).
And you can begin your journey of change today. You can start now to improve relationships, grow deeper in your faith, better manage your time or money, stop smoking, overcome fear, or any other type of change that is important to you.
Keep in mind that this is no "quick fix”. I am not offering you a formula that you can apply to your life and POOF! everything is fixed. You’ll not find a magic incantation you can recite. You’ll not find a one minute prayer that guarantees success in 30 days. This is a journey of discovery of your true self.
Joy awaits you.
